Federal Government and Allen Onyema Set to Immortalise Stephen Keshi
The Federal Government and Dr Allen Onyema have announced plans to immortalise late football legend Stephen Keshi by inscribing his name on the NIIA Sports Diplomacy Wall of Fame in recognition of his historic continental achievements.
A decade after his tragic passing, the iconic former Super Eagles captain and manager, Stephen Keshi, is finally set to be immortalised by the Federal Government of Nigeria. In a collaborative initiative backed by the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs and Air Peace Chief Executive Dr Allen Onyema, Keshi’s name will be officially inscribed on the NIIA Sports Diplomacy Wall of Fame in Lagos. Legendary footballer Chief Segun Odegbami confirmed that the honor reflects the late coach's monumental contributions to national identity, noting that the "Big Boss" uniquely captained and managed Nigeria to Africa Cup of Nations victories, guided Togo to its historic first FIFA World Cup qualification, and single-handedly pioneered the pathway for a generation of African players transitioning into European professional football.
