Elon Musk Becomes World’s First Trillionaire After SpaceX IPO
Elon Musk has become the first person to surpass $1 trillion in net worth after SpaceX’s IPO, as shares surged and the company reached a historic valuation milestone.
SpaceX founder and Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, has reportedly become the world’s first trillionaire following the initial public offering of his aerospace company, SpaceX.
According to a report by CNN, the milestone was reached after SpaceX priced its IPO at $135 per share, pushing Musk’s estimated net worth above the $1 trillion mark for the first time in history.
Following the stock market debut, shares of SpaceX, listed under the ticker “SPCX” on the Nasdaq, surged to $165 shortly after trading began, representing an increase of about 22 per cent above the IPO price.
The strong market performance lifted SpaceX’s valuation beyond $2 trillion, placing it among the most valuable publicly traded companies in the United States.
Prior to the listing, Musk’s wealth was estimated at approximately $813 billion, already making him the richest individual globally by a wide margin.
Financial tracking platforms, including Forbes, indicated that Musk’s fortune had previously exceeded the combined wealth of several of the world’s top billionaires, including Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, as well as Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
The IPO marks one of the most significant moments in the history of private aerospace investment, reflecting growing investor confidence in commercial space exploration and satellite technology.
SpaceX’s rapid rise has been driven by its dominance in satellite launches, reusable rocket technology, and government and private contracts, including partnerships with NASA and global telecommunications companies.
Market analysts say the company’s valuation surge reflects both its technological edge and expectations of continued expansion in the global space economy.
At its current valuation, SpaceX now ranks among the top six most valuable publicly traded companies in the United States, alongside major technology giants such as Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet.
The development has further solidified Musk’s position as one of the most influential figures in global technology and finance, with interests spanning electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, social media, and space exploration.
While market fluctuations may affect valuations in the short term, the IPO has already marked a historic milestone in global wealth records and corporate market performance.
