Dangote Transport Unveils Real-Time Driver Monitoring Control Room
Dangote Transport has unveiled a real-time Driver Monitoring Control Room in Ogun State to strengthen road safety and improve driver behaviour.
Dangote Transport has launched a new Driver Monitoring Control Room designed to improve road safety by allowing the company to monitor its truck drivers in real time while they operate across Nigeria.
The state-of-the-art facility, located at the company’s transport operational base in Ibese, Ogun State, was recently showcased to journalists during a guided tour of the transport operations centre.
Company officials said the initiative forms part of Dangote Transport’s broader efforts to use technology and international best practices to reduce road accidents and promote safer driving behaviour.
The Head of Operations, Dangote Transport, Ibese, David Idiege, described the Driver Monitoring Control Room as one of the latest additions to the company’s safety architecture.
According to him, the facility enables transport control personnel to monitor drivers while they are on the road, assess compliance with safety standards and intervene promptly when risky behaviour is detected.
Idiege said the company was continuously exploring innovative solutions to strengthen safety across its transport operations.
“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to strengthen safety across our transport operations.
“The Driver Monitoring Control Room represents another significant milestone in our efforts to ensure that all journeys are conducted safely and responsibly,” he said.
The real-time monitoring system is expected to provide transport officials with greater visibility over truck operations and allow potential safety concerns to be identified and addressed more quickly.
The initiative underscores Dangote Transport’s focus on technology-driven safety measures as it seeks to improve operational efficiency and reduce risks associated with long-distance haulage.
The company said the monitoring facility would complement its existing safety procedures and help promote greater accountability among drivers.
