2027: Tinubu’ll Relocate Nigeria’s Capital to Lagos If He Wins — Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins the 2027 presidential election.

Ayodele made the claim in a video shared on X while speaking about the 2027 general elections and Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.

President Tinubu is seeking re-election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to the cleric, a Tinubu victory would lead to significant changes in Lagos, including what he described as the relocation of the nation’s capital.

“Lagos architecture will change. You may not see this one very seriously, but if Tinubu wins the second time, the capital of Nigeria will be relocated to Lagos,” Ayodele said.

He further suggested that the new capital could be located in any part of Lagos State, mentioning Epe and Lekki as possible locations.

“When this happens, the capital can be in Epe or Lekki or anywhere at all in Lagos,” he added.

Ayodele’s claim comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election continue to intensify, with Tinubu expected to seek another four-year mandate.

Abuja has served as Nigeria’s federal capital since December 1991, when the seat of government was officially moved from Lagos.

The cleric did not provide details or evidence to support his prediction regarding a possible relocation of the capital.

Any change to Nigeria’s federal capital would require significant constitutional, legal, administrative and infrastructural considerations.

The claim has therefore generated attention as political parties and candidates continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
