2027: Adeleke Belongs to Us — Wike Hints at Largest Rainbow Coalition for Tinubu
Wike hints at a major political realignment, claiming Adeleke belongs to the ruling camp and predicting a huge coalition for Tinubu in 2027.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has hinted at plans to form what he described as the “largest rainbow coalition” in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Wike made the disclosure on Friday while speaking with journalists in Abuja about the visit of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to his residence on Thursday.
The FCT minister suggested that Adeleke was now aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and argued that opposition parties would struggle to prevent Tinubu from securing another term in office.
According to Wike, the 2027 presidential election is already shaping up as a “walkover” for the ruling party, insisting that the opposition lacks the strength required to defeat Tinubu.
“In the next few weeks, watch what is going to happen. You will see the largest rainbow coalition supporting President Tinubu,” Wike said.
The minister’s comment came shortly after Adeleke’s visit to his Abuja residence following the Osun State governor’s re-election.
Adeleke secured another term in office after winning the August 15 governorship election in Osun State in a closely contested poll.
Following his victory, the governor also met with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja before visiting Wike.
Wike’s comments have further fuelled speculation about possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly involving opposition politicians and governors.
The minister has repeatedly argued that the opposition parties are too divided to mount an effective challenge against the APC in 2027.
He also maintained that political movements expected to emerge in the coming months would demonstrate the level of support available to Tinubu ahead of the presidential election.
Adeleke’s recent meetings with Tinubu and Wike have attracted considerable political attention, coming shortly after his successful re-election campaign in Osun State.
The Osun governor has, meanwhile, publicly expressed support for Tinubu, adding another layer to ongoing discussions about political alliances ahead of 2027.
