Trump Renews Threat of Strikes, Says US Has One or Two Targets Left in Iran

United States President Donald Trump has said the US still has one or two targets to deal with in Iran, renewing the possibility of further military action despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.

Trump made the remarks on Saturday while speaking to reporters at his residence in Florida, claiming that US forces had already significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities and nuclear programme.

“We’ve knocked out their nuclear. We still have to take care of, I would say one or two sites, but we can do that in 10 minutes,” he said.

He specifically mentioned Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected underground nuclear complex near Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, as a possible target. The Iranian government has denied conducting nuclear activities at the site.

Trump maintained that Washington was not in a hurry to launch further attacks, saying negotiations with Tehran were progressing, although he questioned Iran’s reliability in the diplomatic process.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump had not made a decision on whether to authorise additional strikes, adding that Washington remained open to a diplomatic solution.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warned the United States and Israel against launching further attacks, saying any threat would attract an immediate and geographically unrestricted response.

He also directed military commanders to update Iran’s target list to include American and Israeli assets.

The developments come amid diplomatic efforts involving Qatar and Pakistan to prevent a renewed escalation. However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Tehran has no immediate plans for direct talks with US officials.
