Two people have lost their lives following a fatal road accident involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Camry along the Sango-Idiroko Road in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) confirmed that the crash occurred on Sunday and was caused by dangerous overtaking by the motorcycle rider.

According to TRACE spokesperson Babatunde Akinbiyi, the motorcycle rider attempted to overtake another vehicle but collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Camry travelling in the opposite direction. The impact killed both the rider and his passenger instantly, while the occupants of the car escaped without injuries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident to evacuate the victims and clear the road for traffic. The bodies of the deceased were deposited at a nearby morgue, while the damaged vehicles were removed from the scene to restore the free flow of traffic.

TRACE urged motorists and commercial motorcycle operators to obey traffic regulations, avoid dangerous overtaking and exercise greater caution while driving. The agency stressed that adherence to road safety rules remains essential in reducing the number of avoidable accidents across the state.
