Nigerian Army Troops Rescue Four Kidnap Victims In Katsina State
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued four kidnap victims during a coordinated operation in Katsina State. The victims were freed unhurt as the military intensifies its onslaught against bandits and kidnappers across the troubled North West region
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued four kidnap victims during a coordinated military operation in Katsina State, in the latest success recorded in the ongoing onslaught against bandits and other criminal elements in the North West region.
The victims, who had been held in captivity by their abductors, were freed unhurt following a swift and well-coordinated operation by the gallant troops, military sources confirmed.
The rescue operation is part of the renewed and sustained efforts by the Armed Forces to flush out bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists terrorising communities across Katsina State and the wider North West region.
According to military authorities, the troops acted on credible intelligence that led them to the location where the victims were being held, prompting a decisive operation that secured their freedom.
The rescued victims were said to have been reunited with their families after receiving medical attention and being profiled by the relevant security agencies.
Military officials reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to rid the region of criminal elements, assuring residents that operations would be sustained until lasting peace and security are fully restored.
"Our troops remain resolute and committed to the protection of lives and property. This latest rescue is a testament to our determination to ensure that no community is left at the mercy of bandits and kidnappers," a military source stated.
The military commended the gallantry, professionalism, and dedication of the troops involved in the operation, while also acknowledging the role of credible intelligence in achieving the successful rescue.
Authorities further called on members of the public to continue supporting the security agencies by promptly providing useful information that would aid ongoing operations against criminal elements in the region.
Katsina State, like several other states in the North West, has been grappling with the menace of banditry and kidnapping, which has led to the loss of lives, displacement of residents, and disruption of socio-economic activities in affected communities.
However, the renewed military offensive in the region has continued to yield positive results, with several bandits neutralised, kidnap victims rescued, and criminal hideouts dismantled in recent operations.
Residents of the affected communities welcomed the development with relief, expressing gratitude to the military for their efforts and appealing for sustained operations to guarantee lasting peace in the area.
The Nigerian Army has assured the public that it will not relent in its efforts to restore normalcy, protect lives and property, and create a safe and secure environment for all citizens across the region.
