2027: ‘It’ll Be Tough Like WWE’ – Ndume on Tinubu Facing Peter Obi, Atiku

Ali Ndume says 2027 presidential election will be “like WWE,” describing expected tough competition between Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and other major political contenders in Nigeria’s electoral race.

Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has described the 2027 presidential election as a highly competitive contest, comparing it to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) due to the intensity of political competition expected.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Ndume said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu will face a strong challenge from opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Lagos State Governor Seyi Makinde.

He noted that while he is not overly worried about the opposition, he does not take political rivals for granted, stressing that the 2027 election will be a tough battle for all parties involved.

According to him, internal party dynamics within the APC must also be addressed to ensure a united front ahead of the polls.

Ndume warned that failure to speak truthfully within the ruling party could weaken its chances, adding that open communication with the presidency is necessary for electoral success.

He said political contests in Nigeria have always been intense, recalling that opposition figures like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi have contested in previous elections and remain experienced contenders.

The senator emphasized that the upcoming election will not be new territory for many of the major political actors, but rather a continuation of long-standing political rivalries.

Ndume maintained that despite the expected intensity, he remains confident that political competition will ultimately play out democratically.
