Destiny Etiko Claims Losing ₦5m Betting on Argentina

Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has revealed that she lost ₦5 million after placing a bet on Argentina to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, describing the experience as both financially painful and emotionally draining. The actress made the disclosure in a post shared on her Instagram page shortly after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the trophy.

Etiko said it was her first time betting, adding that the outcome had convinced her never to do it again. Expressing her disappointment, she wrote that the anxiety of watching the match was overwhelming and that losing such a huge sum had left her devastated.
