Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has urged security agencies to invite Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho for questioning over his claim that he knows those behind the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.**

Media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, has called on the Department of State Services and other security agencies to question Yoruba Nation agitator, **Sunday Adeyemo**, popularly known as **Sunday Igboho**, over his recent comments on the Oyo school abduction.

Ibe made the call in a post on X on Thursday, saying security agencies should invite Igboho if he truly has information about those responsible for the kidnapping of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

His reaction followed Igboho’s claim during a meeting with members of the National Association of Nigerian Students that he knew some politicians allegedly linked to the abductions and would expose them if such incidents continued.

Ibe said every credible lead must be pursued to ensure the safe return of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers, adding that anyone who claims to have useful information should be made to assist ongoing rescue efforts.

He argued that the State Security Service and other relevant security agencies should formally invite Igboho to disclose the names of those he claimed were behind the attack.

The Oyo school abduction, which occurred on May 15, 2026, has triggered public concern, protests and a teachers’ strike, with reports indicating that dozens of pupils and teachers were taken from schools in the Oriire area.

Ibe also criticised the Federal Government over what he described as silence on a reported school abduction in Mussa, Borno State, questioning whether victims in the North-East would receive the same level of attention as those in Oyo State.

He urged the authorities to treat all school abductions and security emergencies across the country with equal urgency, regardless of the region where they occur.

The Atiku aide further called for stronger preventive measures, including the deployment of forest guards in vulnerable states, saying government action should focus not only on responding to attacks but also on stopping them before they happen.
