“I’ve Lost a True Friend, Political Ally” — Wike Mourns Dan Orbih

Former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed grief over the death of Dan Orbih, a prominent Nigerian politician and former National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Wike described Orbih’s death as a painful loss, saying he had lost not only a political associate but also a true friend and trusted ally.

In a condolence message, Wike recalled his relationship with the late politician and praised his contributions to democratic development and public service.

He said Orbih remained committed to his political beliefs and principles throughout his years in active politics, describing him as a dependable figure who stood firmly by those he supported.

According to Wike, Orbih’s political experience, courage and commitment made him an important figure within the PDP and the wider Nigerian political landscape.

He noted that the late politician played significant roles in strengthening the party’s structures, particularly in Edo State and at the national level.

The FCT Minister extended his condolences to Orbih’s family, friends, political associates and supporters, urging them to find strength in the legacy he left behind.

He also acknowledged Orbih’s contribution to the political development of Edo State, describing him as a man who dedicated a substantial part of his life to public affairs and the pursuit of his political convictions.
