Alleged Assault: Court Again Defers Rapper Odumodublvck’s Trial
An Abuja court has adjourned the alleged assault and battery case involving rapper Odumodublvck until October after the defence sought additional time to prepare its case.
An Abuja court on Tuesday adjourned the alleged assault and battery case involving Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck until October 13 and 14, 2026, for hearing.
The case was adjourned after the defence requested additional time to prepare its response before the commencement of trial proceedings.
At the resumed hearing, counsel to the claimant, Uchenna Ojembe, informed the court that his client, Ogbogiri Okey Levi, popularly known as Kraziecent, was present in court and ready to testify.
Ojembe stated that the matter was scheduled for hearing and that the claimant, who is the sole witness in the case, was prepared to proceed with his evidence.
However, counsel to the defendant, Damilare Adeojo, told the court that he had filed a motion on notice dated November 25, 2025, which had already been served on the claimant’s legal team.
Adeojo appealed to the court for another adjournment, explaining that he required more time to adequately prepare the defence case.
He added that he had earlier contacted the claimant’s counsel and requested consideration for the adjournment.
The claimant’s counsel opposed the request, arguing that the matter had already suffered several delays due to previous adjournments sought by the defendant.
Ojembe urged the court to impose a cost of N500,000 on the defence if it decided to grant the application for adjournment.
In response, Adeojo objected to the proposed cost and appealed for an adjournment without any financial penalty.
After listening to both parties, Justice Adeyemi Ajayi encouraged the claimant’s counsel to extend professional courtesy to his colleague at the bar and subsequently granted the request for adjournment.
The suit was instituted by Kraziecent against Odumodublvck following an incident that allegedly occurred at a public event in December 2024.
According to the claimant, the rapper allegedly assaulted him and damaged his iPhone 15 Pro Max while he was recording activities at the event.
Kraziecent further alleged that the incident caused him emotional distress and financial loss.
In the suit, he is seeking compensation for medical expenses, a public apology to be published on the defendant’s social media platforms and in two national newspapers, or alternatively, damages amounting to N2 billion.
The matter is expected to continue when the court reconvenes in October.
