Resign If You Can’t Fix Insecurity — Apostle Suleman Tells Tinubu
Apostle Johnson Suleman has urged President Bola Tinubu to resign if he cannot tackle insecurity, while calling for the arrest and prosecution of those sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria.
The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Johnson Suleman, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to step aside if he is unable to address the country’s worsening insecurity.
Speaking during a church service, Suleman expressed concern over persistent attacks, terrorism, and other security challenges affecting various parts of Nigeria, insisting that decisive action must be taken against those responsible for financing and supporting criminal groups.
According to the cleric, the sponsors of terrorism remain the major challenge in the fight against insecurity and should be identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
“The sponsors of terrorism are our real problem. Go after them. If the President cannot deal with them, he should resign, let somebody else do it,” Suleman said.
He argued that many of the armed youths currently involved in terrorism and banditry were recruited and influenced by individuals who have long funded and sustained violent activities across the country.
The cleric maintained that tackling insecurity requires focusing not only on those carrying out attacks but also on those allegedly providing resources, weapons, and financial support to criminal networks.
Despite his criticism of the government’s handling of security challenges, Suleman praised Nigeria’s security agencies, describing them as highly professional and capable of delivering results when adequately supported.
He specifically commended the Nigerian Army, the police, and the Department of State Services (DSS), stating that they rank among the best security institutions globally based on his observations and experiences.
“I have travelled to several countries and I can boldly tell you that the Nigerian Army, the police and the DSS are among the best in the world,” he said.
Suleman’s remarks come amid growing public concern over insecurity in parts of the country, including incidents of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and attacks on communities.
The cleric called for stronger efforts to identify and dismantle the networks behind violent crimes, stressing that addressing the root causes of insecurity remains essential to restoring peace and stability nationwide.
