PFIPC Scandal: Police to Arraign Adeyemi Tuesday Over Alleged Forgery, Impersonation

The Nigeria Police Force is set to arraign the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, Adeniyi Adeyemi, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday over alleged forgery, impersonation and related offences.

According to fresh court documents marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, Adeyemi and two others are facing an eight-count charge filed by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki on November 27, 2025.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the suspects were initially scheduled to take their plea on June 16, but the matter was adjourned by Justice Mohammed Umar after Adeyemi was said to be indisposed.

Court documents listed the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, among the prosecution’s witnesses. Others include Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede, Ituah Sylvester, civil servants from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Also expected to testify are Ojo Victor, Omeh Amarachukwu and Wakili Saidu, who were allegedly posted to work with the non-existent agency, as well as Joy Ngwoke, owner of Kachi Hotel in Abuja, and Ven. Okoriko of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama.

The prosecution is expected to tender several documents, including the police investigation report, a petition submitted by Gbajabiamila dated October 17, 2025, and an alleged fake presidential appointment letter issued to Adeyemi on March 8, 2024.

Other documentary evidence includes correspondence allegedly sent by Adeyemi to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, approvals to open accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, requests for self-accounting submitted to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, documents relating to the take-off of the PFIPC, witness statements and photographs.
