Pep Guardiola Rejects Italy Coaching Job

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reportedly turned down an offer to become the head coach of the Italy national team, ending speculation linking him with the four-time World Cup winners. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) had identified Guardiola as its preferred candidate to lead the Azzurri's rebuilding project following the team's recent struggles on the international stage.

According to reports, Guardiola informed the FIGC that he intends to honour his commitment to Manchester City and is not ready to leave club football. His decision forced the federation to explore alternative candidates as it looks to appoint a new manager ahead of upcoming international competitions.

Guardiola's rejection is seen as a setback for Italy, which had hoped his tactical expertise and winning pedigree would help restore the national team's status among football's elite. The Spaniard has enjoyed remarkable success at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, winning multiple domestic league titles and UEFA Champions League trophies.

With Guardiola out of the picture, the FIGC has accelerated talks with former Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who has now emerged as the leading candidate for the role.
