Moniepoint Commits ₦3bn To Innovation Hubs Across Three Universities
Moniepoint has announced a ₦3 billion plan to build innovation hubs in OAU, UNN, and ABU, aimed at training students in tech skills, startups, and digital innovation.
Moniepoint has announced a ₦3 billion investment to establish innovation hubs in three Nigerian federal universities as part of efforts to strengthen technology education and develop a stronger pipeline of digital talent.
The initiative will see dedicated innovation centres set up at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria over the next three years.
According to the company, the selected universities represent key regional academic centres, with the aim of ensuring that access to practical tech training and innovation opportunities is more evenly distributed across the country.
The hubs are expected to support students with hands-on learning, startup incubation, mentorship programmes, and collaboration opportunities with industry professionals.
Moniepoint explained that the project is part of its broader commitment to building Nigeria’s digital economy by equipping young people with practical skills needed in software development, product design, and entrepreneurship.
Stakeholders at the launch described the initiative as a step toward bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry demands, while also encouraging more student-led innovation and job creation.
The programme will roll out in phases, with further expansion expected as the initial hubs become operational.
