Bandits Strike Kano Again, APC Chairman Allegedly Abducted

Suspected bandits have attacked Rantan community in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, killing the All Progressives Congress chairman of the ward and another resident.

The attackers reportedly invaded the community on Sunday night and opened fire on residents, creating panic in the area.

The APC chairman, identified as Alhaji Garba Buba, was reportedly among those shot during the attack. He was said to have sustained serious injuries and later died while receiving treatment at a hospital.

Another resident, identified as Sulaiman Zunduma, was also reportedly killed during the attack, while another victim sustained gunshot injuries.

The latest incident has heightened concerns over the deteriorating security situation in parts of Kano State, particularly communities located close to areas affected by banditry and kidnapping.

The attack came shortly after another violent incident in Chiromawa community in Garun Malam Local Government Area, where gunmen reportedly abducted the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa.

Three people were reportedly killed during the Chiromawa attack, while several others sustained injuries.

The successive incidents have increased anxiety among residents, with communities calling for stronger security measures to prevent further attacks.

Rantan and surrounding communities have reportedly faced growing security challenges, with residents concerned about the activities of armed groups operating across parts of northern Nigeria.
