Media Team Strongly Refutes Accusations of Funding Anti-Tinubu Demonstrations

The media office of the immediate past Governor of Zamfara State and current federal lawmaker, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has forcefully denied malicious internet reports linking him to the sponsorship or logistical organization of any anti-government demonstrations targeted at President Bola Tinubu's administration. Categorizing the claims as a coordinated smear campaign cooked up by political blackmailers, his team clarified that the Senator remains unswervingly loyal to the ruling party and the presidency.

The formal rebuttal was delivered via a public press statement released on Friday by Senator Yari's Chief Media Consultant, Dahiru Samaila.

The media team addressed specific blog publications and viral digital threads that had alleged the former governor was covertly funneling substantial financial resources to student unions, civil rights coalitions, and local activist groups to instigate civil unrest and public protests over current economic reforms.

Samaila declared that the allegations are completely unfounded, malicious, and a figment of the imagination of political detractors who are deeply uncomfortable with Senator Yari’s rising national profile and his harmonious relationship with the executive arm of government.

“Our attention has been drawn to a completely fictitious, baseless, and poorly fabricated report circulating on certain fringe online platforms, suggesting that His Excellency, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, is behind the funding of a purported nationwide protest against the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the media aide stated. “We wish to state categorically and without an iota of doubt that this is a blatant lie designed to sow seeds of discord between the Senator and the Presidency.”

The statement emphasized that as a founding stakeholder and high-ranking leader within the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Yari has consistently championed internal party cohesion and national stability. His media team argued that it is structurally illogical for a lawmaker who actively votes to approve executive bills and stabilization funds in the National Assembly to simultaneously fund street agitations against the very same policies.

The media office further pointed out that Senator Yari’s long-standing public track record, both during his tenure as a two-term executive governor and as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has always leaned toward dialogue, state security, and institutional respect rather than popular insurrection or civil disruption.

"Senator Yari believes in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and understands that the current economic transitions require patience, legislative partnership, and collective civic support, not artificial sabotage," Samaila added. "He will not be distracted by the desperate antics of blackmailers who operate under the shadows of digital anonymity."

The statement concluded with a direct appeal to security institutions, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and cybercrime units of the police, to launch an immediate investigation into the actors behind the fake news, warning that the Senator’s legal team is currently auditing the defamatory publications to pursue strict legal action against any media outlet spreading the libelous claims.
