FCT: I Won’t Slow Down, Join Me in Developing Nigeria — Tinubu to Citizens

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will sustain its drive to develop the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other parts of the country, urging citizens to partner with the government in building a prosperous Nigeria.

The President gave the assurance on Thursday during the commissioning of the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road, stretching from Kado Fish Market to Deidei, as part of activities marking his third year in office.

Tinubu, who was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, said the road project would significantly improve transportation, boost commercial activities and enhance the quality of life for residents.

According to him, the road serves as a major economic corridor linking Kado, Saburi, Gwagwa, Idu, Karmo and Deidei directly to the Outer Northern Expressway.

He said the project would reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, improve the movement of goods and create a more favourable environment for businesses.

“We have cut travel time, we have cut the cost for residents, goods will now move faster, markets will breathe, workers will get to their destinations with less stress, and prosperity will increase for the people,” Tinubu said.

The President also praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for implementing the Abuja Light Up Initiative, describing the installation of streetlights as a practical demonstration of the dividends of democracy.

He noted that improved lighting would strengthen security, encourage nighttime economic activities and make movement safer for residents.

Tinubu appealed to community leaders and residents to protect public infrastructure by preventing vandalism, keeping drainage channels free of refuse and promptly reporting any damage for repairs.

He stressed that roads and other public facilities would last longer if communities took ownership of them.

The President reiterated that his administration would continue delivering infrastructure projects across the FCT, including the area councils, to ensure that every community benefits from government interventions.

“We are not slowing down. Every district deserves access, every citizen deserves to feel the impact of this administration wherever they live,” he said.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to join hands with his administration in promoting development, saying collective efforts were essential to building the Nigeria of their dreams.
