Governance is Not Rocket Science, Peter Obi Faults Tinubu's Socio-Economic Policies
Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has faulted President Tinubu's administration on the Nevon HQ podcast, asserting that delivering good governance is "not rocket science" and calling for a structured transition toward social inclusion, education funding, and economic development to lift Nigerians out of poverty.
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has heavily criticized the economic and security strategies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, insisting that national development and effective governance are "not rocket science." Speaking during an in-depth interview on the Nevon HQ podcast hosted by broadcaster Rufai Oseni, the former Anambra State governor argued that Nigeria's overlapping crises could be solved rapidly through deliberate policy formulation, aggressive human capital investment, and inclusive social development.
Obi's remarks serve as a direct challenge to the federal government's current management of inflation, currency stability, and regional security structures. The opposition leader asserted that a sustainable national turnaround must begin by fostering institutional unity and restoring a shared sense of belonging among all citizens. He contrasted his proposed ecosystem approach, which prioritizes broad-based education, poverty reduction, and job creation, with what he described as the administration's ad-hoc, reactive leadership model, specifically pointing to the destabilizing economic effects of abrupt fuel subsidy removals and naira devaluations.
