The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the commencement of its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise, with opportunities open to eligible graduates, Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) holders, and skilled workers across the country.

The recruitment, which forms part of the Corps' ongoing efforts to strengthen its personnel base and improve service delivery on the country's roads, is expected to bring in fresh talents to complement the existing workforce.

According to the FRSC, the recruitment exercise covers various cadres, including graduate entry positions, technical roles, administrative support, and specialised skilled trades required by the agency.

The Corps stated that the recruitment is targeted at addressing manpower needs across its various operational and administrative units, in line with its mandate of promoting road safety, reducing road traffic crashes, and enforcing traffic regulations across the country.

Interested applicants are required to visit the FRSC's official recruitment portal to submit their applications, upload their required documents, and complete the prescribed application process.

The FRSC emphasised that the entire recruitment process is free, warning applicants against paying any money to individuals or agents claiming to facilitate their employment into the Corps.

The Corps stated that recruitment is strictly based on merit, with candidates required to meet specified educational, medical, and character standards to qualify for the various positions.

Applicants must possess relevant academic qualifications, such as first degrees, Higher National Diplomas (HND), National Diplomas (ND), National Certificates in Education (NCE), or SSCE certificates, depending on the specific position being applied for.

Skilled workers, including artisans and technicians in various trades, are also eligible to apply, provided they possess relevant certifications and evidence of proficiency in their respective fields.

Candidates are required to be Nigerian citizens, aged between 18 and 35 years, medically and physically fit, and of good character, with no history of criminal conviction.

Applicants must also possess a valid Permanent Voter Card (PVC), National Identification Number (NIN), and other statutory identification documents required for public sector employment in Nigeria.

The FRSC further stated that the recruitment process would involve various stages, including online screening of applications, physical and medical fitness tests, aptitude tests, oral interviews, and background checks.

The Corps assured applicants of a transparent, fair, and merit-based recruitment process, stressing that all successful candidates would undergo comprehensive training before deployment to their respective duty posts across the country.

The FRSC also called on interested Nigerians to carefully review the specific requirements for each position before applying, ensuring that they meet the criteria and provide accurate information during the application process.

The Corps warned that any candidate found to have provided false information or submitted forged documents would be disqualified and could face legal consequences.

The FRSC recruitment exercise is expected to attract a large number of applicants from across the country, given the appeal of the Corps as a critical federal agency and the opportunities it offers in terms of career development, training, and job security.

The Corps has, over the years, continued to play a critical role in Nigeria's road safety architecture, working to reduce the incidence of road traffic crashes, enforce traffic regulations, and promote safe road use.

The FRSC has also continued to invest in technology, training, and human capital development, positioning itself as one of the leading paramilitary agencies in the country.

Its officers and men are deployed across various parts of the country, providing services that include highway patrols, traffic control, emergency response, driver testing and licensing, vehicle registration, and public education on road safety.

The Corps has also collaborated with other security agencies, government ministries, departments and agencies, private sector organisations, and international partners to strengthen the country's road safety systems.

In recent years, the FRSC has recorded various achievements, including improvements in the driver licensing regime, the introduction of advanced technology in traffic enforcement, enhanced emergency response systems, and stronger public education initiatives.

The Corps has continued to advocate for greater compliance with road safety regulations, including the use of seat belts, adherence to speed limits, the ban on the use of mobile phones while driving, and the enforcement of vehicle standards.

The 2026 recruitment exercise is expected to further strengthen the FRSC's capacity to deliver on its mandate, particularly given the growing demand for road safety services in the country.

Applicants interested in the recruitment are advised to visit the official FRSC recruitment portal, follow the guidelines provided, and complete their applications within the stipulated timeline.

The Corps has published the specific timelines, application procedures, and other important information on its recruitment portal, urging prospective applicants to consult the platform for accurate and up-to-date information.

The FRSC further encouraged prospective applicants to prepare adequately for the recruitment process, including reviewing relevant road safety materials, brushing up on general knowledge, and preparing physically for the fitness tests.

The Corps also emphasised that successful candidates would be deployed to various parts of the country, stressing that flexibility, discipline, and commitment to service are essential qualities required of its personnel.

Recruits would undergo comprehensive training at the FRSC Academy, where they would be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values required to serve effectively as road safety officers.

The training would cover various areas, including road safety principles, traffic laws and regulations, defensive driving, emergency response, communication, leadership, and ethical conduct.

Upon successful completion of the training, recruits would be formally commissioned and deployed to different formations of the FRSC across the country to commence their service.

The Corps assured recruits of a supportive working environment, opportunities for career growth, and access to continuous training and professional development.

The FRSC recruitment exercise also aligns with the Federal Government's broader efforts to create employment opportunities for Nigerians, particularly the youth, and address the country's unemployment challenges.

The Corps expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for the support provided in expanding its workforce, upgrading its infrastructure, and strengthening its capacity to deliver on its mandate.

It called on Nigerians to embrace the opportunity provided by the recruitment exercise and use it as a platform to contribute to the country's road safety efforts and its broader development goals.

The FRSC further reaffirmed its commitment to serving the Nigerian people with professionalism, integrity, and dedication, stressing that its personnel would continue to work to make the country's roads safer for all users.

Applicants seeking further information about the recruitment exercise are advised to visit the official FRSC website and recruitment portal, where they can access the latest updates and communicate with the recruitment team through the official channels.

The Corps also warned prospective applicants to be wary of fraudsters and impersonators who may attempt to exploit the recruitment exercise for personal gain, stressing that all official communications would come through the FRSC's verified platforms.

The recruitment exercise is expected to run for a specific period, after which applications would be closed, and the various stages of the selection process would commence.

The Corps advised interested applicants to apply early, ensuring that their applications are properly submitted and that all required documents are uploaded within the stipulated timeline.

As the recruitment exercise unfolds, attention will be on the FRSC's ability to conduct a transparent, merit-based selection process that produces qualified and dedicated candidates capable of serving the country effectively.
