FG to Introduce Digital Curriculum for Colleges of Education
The Federal Government plans to introduce a digital curriculum for Colleges of Education to modernise teacher training, enhance digital skills, and align Nigeria’s education system with global standards.
The Federal Government is set to introduce a new digital curriculum for Colleges of Education as part of ongoing efforts to modernise teacher training and equip future educators with technology-driven skills.
The initiative forms part of wider reforms in the education sector aimed at aligning teaching methods with global standards and preparing graduates for a rapidly evolving digital environment. Officials said the updated curriculum will prioritise digital literacy, educational technology, artificial intelligence, coding, and other emerging tools relevant to today’s classrooms.
According to government sources, the move is also designed to ensure that teacher training institutions produce graduates capable of meeting the demands of a modern, technology-driven economy. It reflects broader efforts to reposition Nigeria’s education system to better respond to global trends and workforce needs.
The Federal Government maintained that the introduction of the digital curriculum marks a significant step towards improving the quality of education and strengthening the capacity of teachers to deliver effective learning in a digital age.
