FCIPC Scandal: Gbajabiamila Is a Whistleblower — Arewa Youth Forum
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum says Femi Gbajabiamila acted as a whistleblower by alerting security agencies to the fake PFIPC scandal, not a suspect.
The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has defended the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, describing him as a whistleblower rather than a suspect in the controversy surrounding the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The group threw its weight behind the clarifications issued by the Presidency through the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, regarding the activities of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly established and operated the non-existent government agency.
According to the Presidency, Adeyemi allegedly forged official documents, created a fake Federal Government agency, occupied office space at the Federal Secretariat without authorisation, and engaged in activities capable of undermining established government institutions and Nigeria’s diplomatic processes.
In a statement signed by its National President, Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu, the AYCF said Gbajabiamila acted responsibly by promptly notifying security agencies after discovering suspicious activities linked to the fake organisation.
The forum stated that the Chief of Staff first raised the alarm on October 17, 2025, through a formal petition addressed to the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force after complaints were received from officials of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC).
According to the group, Gbajabiamila also submitted evidence, including forged appointment letters carrying falsified signatures, seals and reference numbers.
“We commend the Chief of Staff for his vigilance and proactive steps. His timely intervention prevented what could have become a major embarrassment to the government and the nation,” the statement read.
The forum added that Gbajabiamila demonstrated accountability by refusing to ignore the suspicious activities and immediately involving the appropriate security agencies.
The AYCF also described Adeyemi as someone with a history of fraudulent activities, alleging that he had previously presented himself in 2016 as President-General of a non-existent World Youth Organisation supposedly affiliated with the United Nations.
The group argued that Adeyemi’s background raised serious questions about the credibility of his allegations against the Chief of Staff.
It warned Nigerians against politicising the matter, stressing that doing so could interfere with the ongoing legal proceedings involving Adeyemi and others.
The AYCF maintained that justice should be allowed to take its course, noting that the court is expected to continue hearing the case on July 27, when evidence from all parties will be presented.
