Chelsea Open to Selling Pedro Neto Amid Liverpool, Man City Interest

Chelsea are reportedly open to selling winger Pedro Neto if they receive a suitable offer, with Liverpool, Manchester City and a Saudi Pro League club all monitoring his situation.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are not actively looking to offload the Portuguese international but believe they could make a significant profit should they decide to cash in.

Neto joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers two years ago in a deal worth more than £50 million. However, injuries and frequent managerial changes have prevented the 26-year-old from consistently producing his best form at Stamford Bridge.

The report said Neto’s strongest performances came under former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who has since taken charge of Manchester City. Maresca is now believed to be interested in reuniting with the winger.

Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Neto’s situation, while a Saudi Arabian club is said to have maintained long-term interest in signing him.

Chelsea are understood to believe the current transfer market favours sellers, with demand for quality wide players pushing transfer fees to record levels.

The report noted that RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain are demanding fees exceeding £100 million for Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola, while Chelsea themselves recently paid a British record £117 million to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.

Neto is currently absent from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Australia after being granted additional time off following Portugal’s participation in the FIFA World Cup.

Another Portuguese winger, Geovany Quenda, is expected to join the squad after the Australian leg of the tour as Chelsea continue preparations in Asia. The 19-year-old is reportedly recovering from a minor injury.

Meanwhile, new striker Emmanuel Emegha, who recently joined from Strasbourg, will also return to training later after sustaining a hamstring injury during a behind-closed-doors pre-season victory over Bromley.
