2027 Elections: Zubby Michael Tells Youths to Shun Political Violence
Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has urged Nigerian youths to reject political violence ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling for peaceful and issue-based political engagement.
Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has called on Nigerian youths to reject political violence ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the country’s future depends on peaceful and issue-based politics.
Popular Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael, has urged Nigerian youths to shun political violence as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The actor, in a statement released on Sunday, warned that violence has no place in a democracy and that young people should channel their energy into constructive political engagement rather than allowing themselves to be used as tools of destruction.
Zubby Michael noted that the 2027 elections would be a defining moment for Nigeria, and that the conduct of the youth during the process would determine the kind of leadership and governance the country would have in the years ahead.
He appealed to young Nigerians to reject inducements from desperate politicians who might want to use them to perpetrate violence, saying such actions only destroy lives and set the nation backward.
The actor stressed that youths are the backbone of the nation and should instead focus on demanding accountability, good governance and credible leadership from those seeking elective offices.
He also encouraged young people to actively participate in the electoral process by registering to vote, making informed choices and ensuring that their votes count, rather than resorting to violence.
Zubby Michael’s call comes amid growing concerns over the rising cases of political thuggery and violence in parts of the country ahead of the next general elections.
He urged political leaders across all parties to preach peace and ensure that their supporters conduct themselves in a lawful and orderly manner during the campaign and election periods.
The actor reiterated that the future of Nigeria belongs to the youth, and that they must protect it by rejecting violence and embracing peaceful, democratic means of expressing their political aspirations.
