Woman Faults UK Prison Authorities Over Release of Nigerian Partner
French mother Claire N’Djosse criticised UK prison authorities after Nigerian-British partner was mistakenly released, worsening her custody battle over their abducted five-year-old son and ongoing international search efforts.
A French woman, Claire N’Djosse, has criticised UK prison authorities after the mistaken release of her Nigerian-British partner, Ifedayo Adeyeye, who is accused of abducting their five-year-old son.
The woman said she felt “betrayed” after Adeyeye was released from HMP Pentonville on April 21, 2026, despite previously being sentenced to 18 months for contempt of court by a London High Court.
She claims their son, Laurys N’Djosse Adeyeye, was abducted in France in 2024 and may have been taken to Nigeria via the UK. She has not seen the child since the incident and has pursued legal action in London for his return.
Authorities reportedly admitted that Adeyeye was mistakenly released and may have travelled to Spain before the error was reported to police. The UK Ministry of Justice, UK Ministry of Justice, said it understands the distress caused and is addressing the situation, while police continue search efforts.
N’Djosse described losing hope after the release, saying her “life has stopped” without her child and expressing deep emotional distress over the ongoing separation.
