Nollywood Actress Atinuke Kareem Dies After Battle With Cancer

Nollywood actress Atinuke Remilekun Kareem, popularly known as Atinuke Kareem, has died after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.

The actress’s death was announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, by Owolabi Ajasa, an executive of the Ogun State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria.

Ajasa expressed appreciation to colleagues, fans and well-wishers who contributed financially, offered prayers and provided encouragement during Kareem’s illness.

He said efforts had been made to support the actress throughout her treatment, but she eventually died despite the assistance and prayers.

Kareem had publicly appealed for financial support several months ago to enable her continue treatment for breast cancer. Her plea attracted attention from colleagues and members of the public, who rallied around her during the difficult period.
