Wike: I’ll Resign as Minister If My Claims on Roads Are False
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike said he would resign if his claims about road projects under his administration were found to be untrue, while defending his infrastructure record.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said he would resign from office if his claims about the condition and development of roads under his administration are proven to be false.
Wike made the statement while defending his record in office and highlighting infrastructure projects carried out in the Federal Capital Territory. He challenged critics to verify his claims and provide evidence if they disagreed with his assessment of ongoing road projects.
The minister has repeatedly emphasised infrastructure development as one of the major priorities of his administration, pointing to road construction, rehabilitation and other urban renewal projects across Abuja.
His comments come amid public debate over government spending, project delivery and the impact of infrastructure initiatives on residents of the capital.
