Police Hunt Teacher Over Death of 12-Year-Old Student in Anambra
The Federal Government has introduced a digital standards portal to help manufacturers access quality requirements and improve the competitiveness of Made-in-Nigeria products.
The Anambra State Police Command has launched a search for a teacher allegedly linked to the death of a 12-year-old student in the state.
The incident reportedly occurred after the student was allegedly subjected to severe punishment by the teacher, leading to a medical emergency and subsequent death. The police have commenced investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the level of involvement of those connected to the case.
The development has generated concern among residents and education stakeholders, with calls for greater protection of students and stricter enforcement of child safety measures in schools. Authorities have continued to stress that disciplinary measures in educational institutions must not endanger the lives or wellbeing of students.
Officials in Anambra have previously condemned cases involving violence against pupils and students, warning that individuals found responsible for harming children would face legal consequences. The latest investigation is expected to determine further actions as police continue efforts to bring those involved before the appropriate authorities.
