Wike Asks Bode George to Explain Ownership of Abuja House

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has challenged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, to explain how he acquired his Abuja residence, intensifying the ongoing war of words between the two political figures.

Wike made the demand while responding to George's criticism of his administration and comments regarding his residence in Abuja. The FCT Minister maintained that public office holders and prominent political figures should be prepared to account for the sources of their wealth and assets.

The former Rivers State governor said he had nothing to hide regarding his own properties, insisting that every asset linked to him was legitimately acquired. He argued that those raising allegations against him should also be willing to subject themselves to the same level of public scrutiny.

According to Wike, transparency and accountability should apply to all political leaders irrespective of party affiliation or status. He accused some critics of engaging in selective attacks while refusing to explain issues surrounding their own assets and financial dealings.

The exchange is the latest in a series of public disagreements between Wike and Bode George over the affairs of the PDP, national politics, governance, with both men remaining outspoken on issues affecting the party and the country.
