Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Kicks Off as APC Supporters Flood Kaduna Stadium

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on Kaduna Township Stadium on Saturday as the party formally kicked off its campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.

The rally attracted party faithful from different parts of the country, with supporters arriving early at the venue ahead of Tinubu’s expected arrival.

A report by Punch said groups of supporters began arriving at the stadium as early as 7 a.m., singing, dancing and chanting slogans in Hausa and English in support of Tinubu and other APC leaders.

Many wore colourful campaign outfits, including T-shirts, caps and hijabs bearing the President’s image, party insignia and photographs of state governors.

Some of the slogans included “Tinubu Again,” “Tinubu Our Father” and “Asiwaju, Uba Sani for Second Term,” reflecting support for the President’s second-term ambition and the re-election bid of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

Major roads leading to the stadium were barricaded as security and event arrangements were put in place for the gathering.

The Kaduna rally marks the start of the APC’s presidential campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections. The party has said it intends to mobilise supporters across the country in support of Tinubu’s bid for another four-year term.

APC Presidential Campaign Council Director-General Abdulaziz Yari had earlier announced October 24 as the date for the campaign flag-off after meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The event is expected to bring together APC governors, National Assembly members, party executives and other political stakeholders.

The campaign begins as political parties prepare to compete for voters ahead of the 2027 general election, with issues including economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment and the cost of living remaining important concerns for Nigerians.
