WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, with 1,200,514 candidates obtaining at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

The examination body announced the release on Wednesday through its official X handle, informing candidates that their results are now available online. It advised candidates to generate their result checker PIN through the WAEC portal before accessing their results on the WAEC Direct platform.

According to WAEC, 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, while the 1,200,514 successful candidates represent 61.54 per cent of the total. The performance reflects the outcome of the 2026 examination conducted for final-year secondary school students across the country.

The council urged candidates to use only its official channels to check their results and avoid fraudsters or unauthorised websites claiming to offer result-checking services. It also provided guidance on generating or recovering the required PIN for successful access to the results.

WAEC's release of the results marks another milestone in the 2026 admission cycle, with successful candidates expected to proceed with tertiary institution admission processes. The council is also expected to release details of withheld results linked to alleged examination malpractice.
