Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will successfully address the country’s insecurity challenges within the next four years if re-elected in 2027.

Umahi made the statement on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election held at Umunaga Ward in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

According to the minister, the turnout of 5,009 APC members at the ward primary demonstrated the people’s trust and continued support for Tinubu’s leadership and policies.

Addressing party members and supporters, Umahi described Ebonyi State as a stronghold of the All Progressives Congress, insisting that the people remained fully committed to the president and the ruling party.

“Ebonyi State is totally APC. We are only APC,” Umahi declared, adding that no other political party had meaningful presence in Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The former Ebonyi State governor said the South-East region had benefited significantly under Tinubu’s administration through strategic appointments and infrastructure development projects.

According to him, the president had successfully integrated the South-East into mainstream national politics by appointing people from the region into key government positions and initiating major projects.

“Bola Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for. A man who has integrated the entire South-East, given us juicy appointments and very important infrastructure,” Umahi said.

Speaking on the economic reforms introduced by the current administration, Umahi acknowledged that Nigerians experienced hardship during the early stages of implementation. However, he argued that the reforms had helped stabilize the economy and prevent deeper economic challenges.

“I laugh when people talk about the hardship caused by the reforms. Nobody has been able to say where Nigeria would have been without them,” he stated.

Umahi further expressed optimism that the difficult phase of the reforms was over and that ordinary Nigerians would soon begin to feel the positive impact at the grassroots level.

“The macroeconomy is stable and the President is now taking it down to the microeconomy. The worst is over and Nigerians will soon begin to see the benefits,” he added.

He also praised the Federal Government’s road and bridge construction projects across the country, describing them as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to rebuilding critical infrastructure nationwide.
