Tinubu Tells Catholic Bishops Nigeria Is Gradually Regaining Stability

President Bola Tinubu has assured members of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria that his administration is making steady progress in stabilising the country through economic reforms, improved security measures and governance initiatives. He said while the challenges facing the nation remain significant, the government's policies are beginning to produce positive results.

Speaking during a meeting with the Catholic bishops at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu acknowledged the economic hardship experienced by many Nigerians but insisted that difficult decisions were necessary to place the country on a path of sustainable growth. He maintained that the reforms introduced by his administration were designed to strengthen the economy and improve the welfare of citizens in the long term.

The President also highlighted ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity across different parts of the country, noting that security agencies have continued to record successes against criminal groups. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to protecting lives and property while creating an environment that encourages investment and economic development.

Responding to concerns raised by the bishops, Tinubu welcomed continued collaboration between the government and religious leaders in promoting national unity, peace and social development. He commended the Catholic Church for its contributions to education, healthcare and humanitarian services, describing the partnership as vital to national progress.

The meeting comes as the Federal Government continues consultations with key stakeholders over its reform agenda. Both parties expressed optimism that sustained dialogue and collective efforts would help address the country's economic and security challenges while strengthening national cohesion.
