Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, alongside former Senate President Bukola Saraki, have congratulated the African Democratic Congress’ 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday, commending his contributions to national development and democratic governance.

The two politicians conveyed their goodwill messages in separate posts shared on their verified X accounts on Sunday, describing Obi as a disciplined leader whose public service has inspired many Nigerians.

Tambuwal said Obi’s attainment of 65 years reflects a lifetime of dedication, resilience and unwavering commitment to the progress of the nation.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives praised Obi’s leadership style, noting that he has consistently demonstrated prudence, accountability and a strong passion for building a prosperous Nigeria.

“On the joyous occasion of your 65th birthday, I extend my warmest congratulations and heartfelt best wishes to Your Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi. Reaching this remarkable milestone is a testament to a life of service, discipline, resilience and unwavering commitment to the progress of our dear nation,” Tambuwal wrote.

He added that Obi’s contributions to national discourse have enriched Nigeria’s democracy and inspired millions of citizens, especially young people, to participate actively in shaping the country’s future.

Tambuwal also prayed for God to grant the former Anambra State governor good health, wisdom, strength and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria and humanity.

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki also celebrated Obi, describing him as a friend and brother.

“My family and I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating my good friend and brother, H.E. Peter Obi, as he marks his 65th birthday today,” Saraki wrote.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Obi, asking that he be granted long life, good health and renewed strength to continue serving the country.

Obi served as Governor of Anambra State between 2006 and 2014, earning recognition for fiscal discipline and reforms in education, healthcare and infrastructure.

He was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election before emerging as the African Democratic Congress’ standard-bearer for the 2027 presidential election.

Since then, Obi has remained one of Nigeria’s leading opposition figures, with the Obidient Movement continuing to advocate governance reforms, accountability, transparency and greater youth participation in the nation’s democratic process.
