2027: Tinubu Kicks Off Campaign in Kaduna October 24

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to launch his campaign for re-election in Kaduna on October 24, according to the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari.

Yari disclosed the date on Friday, October 9, after briefing Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on preparations for the 2027 general election.

The former Zamfara State governor said the President had approved the proposed timetable for campaign activities and state visits as the APC prepares to seek another term for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket.

According to Yari, the Presidential Campaign Council will hold its inaugural meeting on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, ahead of the Kaduna campaign launch.

He said the council had also outlined a programme of visits to states across the country, adding that the President had approved the proposed schedule.

Yari identified Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, Borno State, as destinations to be visited after Kaduna.

He said the full timetable for the campaign’s state-by-state engagements would be made public after the council’s inauguration.

“We have put forward a proposal. The inaugural meeting is going to be done on the 14th of this month, and by God’s grace, on the 24th of October, we’re going to do our flag-off campaign in Kaduna,” Yari said.

He added that the campaign team intended to begin its activities promptly following the launch.

The APC is preparing for the 2027 presidential election, in which Tinubu is seeking a second term in office. The campaign council is responsible for coordinating the party’s national campaign, stakeholder engagements and mobilisation efforts.

The proposed Kaduna event will mark a major public step in the party’s preparations for the election, with further engagements expected across the country.

Yari said additional details of the campaign programme would be announced after the council’s inaugural meeting.
