North-Central APC Endorses Tinubu for Second Term in 2027

The All Progressives Congress APC in the North-Central region has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was announced at a rally held at Lafia Square in Nasarawa State on Saturday, attracting party leaders, governors, elected officials and supporters from the six states in the region and the Federal Capital Territory.

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang led a delegation of political leaders and APC stakeholders from his state to the event, where he affirmed their support for the President.

According to a statement issued in Jos by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor commended the President’s economic reform initiatives, stating that their sustained implementation could provide a stronger foundation for economic growth, agricultural transformation, infrastructure development, job creation and improved living standards.

He said a second term would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, deepen development across critical sectors and strengthen the country’s economic resilience.

Mutfwang, however, acknowledged the economic pressures and security challenges facing Nigeria, calling for collective efforts to restore economic stability, strengthen national security and expand opportunities for citizens.

He also emphasised the importance of purposeful leadership, shared responsibility and cooperation among stakeholders in advancing national development.

The governor described the gathering as an expression of unity among APC leaders and supporters across the North-Central region, adding that the endorsement reflected their commitment to continuity of governance and sustainable development.

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume and governors from the region also attended the rally.

The Plateau delegation included Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo, the state’s First Lady Helen Mutfwang, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Naanlong Daniel and Chief of Staff Jeremiah Satmak.

Former Plateau State Governor Joshua Chibi Dariye, former Deputy Governor Pauline Tallen, political appointees, APC candidates for the 2027 elections and other party stakeholders were also part of the delegation.
