Several Injured as Speeding Vehicle Crashes Into Tricycles in Lagos

Several passengers have sustained injuries following a ghastly road accident involving a Honda vehicle and two commercial tricycles at Federal Bus Stop along Ipaja Road in Lagos State.

The incident occurred at about 8:50 a.m. on Monday when the Honda car, with registration number KTU 921 JY, reportedly lost control and rammed into the tricycles.

Eyewitnesses said the female driver was allegedly speeding and attempted to avoid a Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) street sweeper when the accident occurred.

According to accounts from the scene, the vehicle first struck the sweeper before veering off and colliding with two tricycles on the opposite lane.

The impact left about 10 passengers injured, with victims said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries. While some suffered serious wounds, others reportedly had minor injuries.

Emergency response efforts were reportedly activated as sympathisers and passers-by rushed to assist victims at the scene.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the crash, but eyewitness reports suggest that speeding and loss of control played a major role in the incident.

The injured victims were said to have been taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
