Rotary Club Commissions ₦15 Million Ultra-Modern Vocational Skills Centre to Combat Youth Unemployment in Lagos
The Rotary Club has commissioned a ₦15 million state-of-the-art vocational skills acquisition hub in a Lagos public school to equip graduating students with practical, market-ready trades.
In a direct bid to tackle rising youth unemployment and pivot public education away from purely theory-heavy curriculums, the Rotary Club has officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art vocational skills acquisition centre valued at ₦15 million inside a prominent Lagos public school. The newly launched facility features a highly advanced digital literacy laboratory for coding and graphic design, alongside fully equipped industrial tailoring workshops and an entrepreneurship hub designed to teach basic bookkeeping and business modeling. Rotary officials emphasized during the commissioning ceremony that providing students with functional, market-ready technical paths is the most effective cushion against the current harsh economic realities.
The initiative ensures that vulnerable public school students can graduate with a dual asset, holding a standard academic certificate in one hand and a fully monetizable trade in the other.
