Oyebanji’s Victory Reward For Outstanding Performance — Sanwo-Olu
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his Ekiti re-election, describing the victory as a reward for good governance and effective delivery of democratic dividends.
The Governor of Lagos State and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on his victory in the Saturday governorship election.
Sanwo-Olu, in a congratulatory message issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described Oyebanji’s re-election as a reflection of the confidence and support of Ekiti residents.
He also commended the electorate for the peaceful conduct of the election and for renewing the mandate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to continue governing the state.
The Lagos governor said Oyebanji’s landslide victory was an indication of his popularity and acceptance among the people of Ekiti State.
According to him, the outcome of the poll represented a reward for good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends during Oyebanji’s first term in office.
“I congratulate my dear brother, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, for emerging victorious in yesterday’s governorship election. I also congratulate his running mate, Mrs Monisade Afuye, on her re-election.
“Governor Oyebanji’s victory in the governorship poll with 83.54 per cent of the total votes cast is a reward for performance and outstanding delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti State during his first term,” Sanwo-Olu said.
He thanked the people of Ekiti State for their continued support for the APC, assuring them that the party would remain committed to fulfilling its promises.
Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the renewed mandate would further strengthen the APC’s position in the South-West and enable Oyebanji to deepen development initiatives across Ekiti State.
The Lagos governor, who served as a member of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti governorship election led by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, also praised President Bola Tinubu for providing what he described as effective leadership through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the administration’s policies were aimed at achieving socio-economic transformation and improving the lives of Nigerians.
Oyebanji was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission after securing 319,224 votes, defeating his closest challengers from the Peoples Democratic Party and African Democratic Congress.
