Oyebanji’s Re-election Reflects Quality Leadership, Performance — Uzodimma
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma says Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election reflects quality leadership, good governance and public confidence, describing the victory as evidence that performance attracts electoral support.
The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has congratulated the people of Ekiti State over the victory of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the just-concluded governorship election.
Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was re-elected after polling 319,224 votes to defeat his closest challengers, Olumayokun Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Dare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), across the state’s 16 local government areas.
Following the announcement of the results, APC supporters and residents took to the streets of Ado Ekiti to celebrate the outcome.
Speaking with journalists at the Ekiti State Government House on Sunday, Uzodimma said Oyebanji’s victory reflected the quality of leadership and performance delivered by his administration.
“As a party, we are delighted. We congratulate Governor Biodun Oyebanji on this remarkable victory and on the excellent performance he has delivered in Ekiti State. We also congratulate the national leader of our great party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the leadership of the APC at all levels,” he said.
The Imo governor said the turnout of supporters and the overwhelming support received by Oyebanji demonstrated the confidence of Ekiti residents in his leadership.
Uzodimma described the election outcome as proof that good governance can translate into electoral success, adding that the victory was a source of pride for progressive governors across the country.
“We are happy as a party. We are happy as progressive governors. We are proud that one of our own has demonstrated that good governance yields positive results,” he stated.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s policies and development initiatives, saying Nigerians were gradually appreciating ongoing efforts despite economic challenges.
Uzodimma said democracy in Nigeria was growing stronger, with achievements being recorded and political stability improving.
He praised Nigerians for their resilience and patience, expressing optimism that continued cooperation between citizens and government would contribute to national development.
The governor further urged support for the APC-led administration, maintaining that sustained commitment to good governance would bring more progress across the country.
