Osun Election: Senator Fadeyi Quits APC, Returns to PDP

OSOGBO — Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has officially resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the upcoming election cycle in Osun State.

The lawmaker announced his political realignment in Osogbo, citing the need to join forces with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration to accelerate infrastructure development and consolidate socio-economic progress across the state.

The defection marks a significant political shift in Osun Central, altering party dynamics in the National Assembly delegation and reshaping campaign structures as major political parties intensify preparations for the Osun governorship election.

Senator Fadeyi stated that his decision to rejoin the PDP followed extensive consultations with constituents, community elders, and political supporters who advocated for unified alignment with the state’s current leadership.

The lawmaker emphasized that consolidating political structures under the PDP banner will strengthen representation for Osun Central, ensuring seamless collaboration between state and federal legislative frameworks.

State PDP leaders warmly received Senator Fadeyi, describing his return as a major validation of Governor Adeleke's performance, while APC representatives acknowledged the departure but reaffirmed their commitment to competing vigorously in the state elections.
