Ondo APC Disowns Ex-Commissioner Over Claim Tinubu May Lose State

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from comments made by former Commissioner Razaq Obe, who reportedly claimed that President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party could lose the state in the 2027 general election if the party's internal crisis persists. The party described the remarks as Obe's personal opinion, insisting they do not reflect the position of the APC in Ondo State.

In a statement, the state APC leadership reaffirmed its confidence in President Tinubu's popularity across Ondo State, maintaining that the ongoing disagreements within the party are temporary and would be resolved well before the 2027 elections. The party stressed that internal disputes are common after party primaries and should not be mistaken for weakness or declining support.

Reacting to the controversy, APC chieftain Chief Olusola Oke (SAN) said Obe's comments undermined the efforts of party leaders working to secure another victory for Tinubu in the state. He argued that the APC remains the dominant political force in Ondo and expressed confidence that the President would record a landslide victory in the state during the next presidential election.

The party urged members to remain united and avoid statements capable of creating unnecessary tension, reiterating its commitment to resolving internal differences and strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
