Okocha, Portable Renew Rivalry in Celebrity Boxing Rematch

Nollywood actor Charles Okocha and street-pop singer Portable are set to face each other today in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The bout, tagged "Unfinished Business," follows their controversial first meeting, which Okocha insists was unfairly decided in Portable's favour.

The build-up to the contest has been marked by heated confrontations and verbal exchanges, with both celebrities promising an explosive encounter. Speaking ahead of the fight, Okocha declared that the contest would be "chaos" and vowed to settle the score in the ring. He said he had undergone extensive training and was fully prepared for the rematch.

Portable, known for his outspoken personality, remained equally confident, repeatedly insisting he would defeat Okocha once again. During the final face-off, the singer taunted his opponent and boasted that he had already beaten him before, promising to repeat the feat when they meet in the ring.

According to the event organisers, the celebrity clash has generated massive online engagement, with previous editions of the "Chaos in the Ring" series attracting billions of video views and digital impressions. The fight card will also feature an influencer bout between Mr Real and Idowest, alongside several professional boxing contests involving Nigerian and international fighters.

The promoter, Dr Ezekiel Adamu, described the rematch as an opportunity to finally settle the rivalry while showcasing Nigerian boxing to a global audience. Winners of the two celebrity bouts are expected to receive brand-new electric vehicles, with the event also featuring performances and ring walks by popular Nigerian musicians.
