NIPR Inducts 73 Nigeria Immigration Service PROs

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted 73 Public Relations Officers (PROs) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) into the institute, marking another step in the professionalisation of strategic communication within the agency. The induction ceremony was held in Abuja, with senior officials describing it as part of efforts to strengthen public engagement and institutional credibility.

Speaking at the event, NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, urged the newly inducted officers to uphold the ethics of the public relations profession by promoting truth, professionalism and responsible communication. He stressed that effective public relations is vital to building public trust and enhancing the image of government institutions.

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, represented at the ceremony, said the induction reflects the Service's commitment to improving strategic communication and equipping its spokespersons with the skills needed to manage public information effectively. She encouraged the officers to apply their training in promoting transparency and strengthening public confidence in the agency.

The newly inducted officers were also urged to embrace continuous professional development and adhere to the NIPR's code of ethics as they carry out their communication responsibilities. The institute noted that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to improve professionalism across public sector communication in Nigeria.
