Musa Vows Rescue of Kidnap Victims, Seeks Public Support
Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd.) says security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue kidnapped citizens, stressing that stronger community support and intelligence sharing are key to improving national security.
The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has assured Nigerians that security agencies are intensifying efforts to secure the release of citizens currently being held by kidnappers across the country.
Speaking during the 2026 Southern Kaduna Festival after receiving the Southern Kaduna Grand Commander award, Musa acknowledged the pain faced by families whose loved ones remain in captivity and pledged that the government would continue working towards their rescue.
He stressed that defeating kidnapping and other security threats requires cooperation between security agencies and local communities, noting that timely information from residents can significantly improve security operations.
According to the Defence Minister, unity among citizens remains essential in tackling insecurity, adding that collective efforts would strengthen ongoing operations aimed at protecting lives and restoring confidence in affected communities.
Musa also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly, saying intelligence provided by the public continues to play an important role in tracking criminal networks and preventing attacks.
His remarks come amid growing concerns over kidnapping incidents in different parts of the country, with security authorities under increasing pressure to improve rescue operations and strengthen public safety.
