Motorists Advised to Avoid Anthony Village Service Lane as Lagos Begins Repairs
The Lagos State Government has advised motorists to avoid the Anthony Village service lane as repair works begin on the road. Drivers have been urged to use alternative routes and comply with traffic officials while the rehabilitation project is underway.
The Lagos State Government has advised motorists to avoid the Anthony Village service lane along the Ikorodu Road corridor as repair works commence on the route. The government said the rehabilitation is aimed at improving road conditions and ensuring safer movement for motorists and other road users.
In a traffic advisory, the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation said the repair work would require partial closure of the affected service lane, urging motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and use alternative routes to minimise delays during the construction period.
The ministry appealed to drivers travelling through the area to obey traffic management officials and follow all diversion signs placed around the construction zone. It noted that officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be deployed to manage vehicular movement and reduce congestion throughout the duration of the repairs.
According to the government, the maintenance work forms part of its ongoing efforts to rehabilitate critical road infrastructure across the state and improve the overall commuting experience for residents. It assured the public that contractors have been directed to complete the project as quickly as possible while maintaining safety standards.
The state government expressed regret over the temporary inconvenience the repairs may cause and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of motorists. It reaffirmed its commitment to improving Lagos' road network through continuous maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
