Loma Bank Expands Digital Finance Access For SMEs

Loma Bank has strengthened its push for financial inclusion by expanding embedded financial services to more than 11,000 entrepreneurs and small businesses across Nigeria through a partnership with Liberty Hub.

The collaboration integrates Loma Bank’s financial infrastructure into Liberty Hub’s existing digital ecosystem, allowing small business owners to access banking services such as account opening, payments, savings, loans, insurance, and payment cards directly through the platform.

According to both organisations, the initiative is designed to simplify access to formal financial services for entrepreneurs who often struggle with traditional banking requirements such as collateral, documentation, and credit history.

Liberty Hub, which operates a cooperative-based support system for SMEs, said the partnership will help organise informal businesses into structured networks, making them more visible and easier to serve within the financial system.

Loma Bank stated that the model reflects the growing adoption of embedded finance, where banking services are integrated into non-banking platforms that already have active users and business activity.

The bank added that the collaboration will help entrepreneurs build financial identities, improve access to credit, and support business growth through faster and more flexible financial solutions delivered within their existing digital environment.

Both organisations described the partnership as a step towards deepening financial inclusion and enabling small businesses in Nigeria’s informal sector to scale more efficiently in a digital economy.
