Lagos Diverts Traffic for Anthony Village Road Reconstruction

The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion ahead of the reconstruction of the Anthony Village service lane along Ikorodu Road, urging motorists to use alternative routes during the period of the repair works. The project is aimed at improving the condition of the road and enhancing traffic flow along the busy corridor.

In a traffic advisory issued by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, motorists travelling through the Anthony Village axis were advised to avoid the affected service lane and cooperate with traffic officials managing vehicular movement around the construction zone. The government said diversion signs would be installed to guide road users throughout the duration of the project.

The ministry disclosed that officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be deployed to the area to minimise congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles. It urged motorists to obey traffic regulations and follow the directives of officials to reduce delays and prevent accidents.

According to the state government, the reconstruction forms part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate critical road infrastructure across Lagos and improve commuting for residents. It assured the public that contractors had been directed to complete the repairs as quickly as possible while maintaining safety standards.

The government apologised for the temporary inconvenience the project may cause and appealed for the patience and cooperation of motorists and residents, reiterating its commitment to providing a safer and more efficient road network across the state.
